As salaam alaikum Reader,
I pray this message finds you well. I want to share with you that I've always felt there was something special about women that Allah has kept to Himself...and has left purposefully somewhat clouded in mystery in this world. Allah is very specific about how Adam was created, but for women He tells us only that we were created from the rib of Adam. Allah is very specific about a mans role in a marriage, as maintainer, provider, and protector; but for women He is more vague, or open, instructing the good women to be obedient. This has always intrigued me.
One of the first themes covered in the Tethered Wombs coaching program is that of women and secrecy. There is something about the nature of women that is secretive...from our creation, to our connection, to our strength and power.
We were created in secret...it is said that our father Adam (as) woke up, and there she was...his wife, Hawa, created from his rib while he slept.
Allah says that the womb, which He has entrusted to women, is connected to his throne. He also makes mention in the Quran that none knows what is the fate of what is carried in the womb, save Him.
Additionally, He warns us that this womb, this intimate secret between Himself and this unique creation of 'woman' , is tethered to His throne, and that He has decreed that whomever keeps ties with it, He shall keep ties with them, and whoever severed their ties with the womb, He shall severe His ties with them.
There is something in the nature of women that operates in secret. At our highest level we step into the divine unseen connection that is the tethered womb, that loci of the dispersal of His Rahma in the world, part of which gave women the honor of being among the things our Holy Prophet (pbuh) loved in this world. At its farther end, this secretive nature can turn on us and hide abuse, oppression, and be a cause of participating in our own destruction.
I invite you to join the Tethered Womb coaching program and learn how to harness the power of your intimate connection with God. Even if you are not a woman, you are connected to a woman, and it is by maintaining, holding and uplifting this connection in part that you yourself strengthen your connection to the owner of the divine throne Himself.
On another note, in honor of this launch I am giving away 5 copies of the book I Remember Gloria. This is a very personal story about my maternal grandmother, told from the vantage point of my own mother, her daughter. I Remember Gloria is a reflective memoir that recounts, as an adult, the complicated life of a beautiful women grappling with family, abuse, hopes, dreams, ambitions, mental illness, and the beauty and pain of it all. Gloria, like many women carried her pain in secret, and tried to bear it as best she could, how she was able in a society that had forgotten the honor of women and what marriage should truly be. At the same time, I Remember Gloria is the story of happiness and love that still persists even when pillars in our midst may apprar to be crumbling. Life is complicated, and even things like abuse and infidelity sometimes live side by side with family, ambition and joy.
If you would like to receive a free copy of this book, reply with your name, mailing address, and phone number and I will ship it right out.
If you or anyone you know is a victim of domestic violence, whether oppressed or oppressor I urge you to seek help. This is not the type of secret you need to bear alone. Seek help first and foremost with Allah through earnest prayer, and then accept His answers when they come to you in the form that He best sees fit.
With love
Wa salaam alaikum

As salaam alaikum Reader, I pray this message finds you well. I wanted to send you a quick message about identity. Identity can be defined as the distinguishing character or personality of an individual. Our own identity as well as the identity of others defines and forms the foundation for how we relate to ourselves and others. Even more importantly, understanding the identity of Allah, through His attributes, should be the foundation upon which we build our relationship with Him. I spoke...
