The weakest link
As salaam alaikum Reader,
I pray this message finds you and yours well. I’m on this thing just tearing out weeds that are so deep rooted that they almost go unnoticed , but for me, they undermine the very foundation of our experience as essentially spiritual beings in this physical plain.
One such idea is that we are only as strong as our weakest link. I challenge you, Reader to reevaluate and let that go.
What about this…we can all rise and be pulled to spiritual rank of the strongest spiritually astute among us.
Himma is a comprehensive and deep concept that I’ll define here as magnetic spiritual zeal (thanks to my husband for helping fine tune that definition). It is that magnetic energy that accompanies someone with spiritual gusto and fortitude that has the ability to activate, accelerate and stimulate those around them.
We will never get rid of all our weakest links, either external or internal. We can however communally sharpen and strengthen our spirits and by so doing support ourselves and others in the realest ways possible. The path to God was never about cutting others out or distancing ourselves for our own ends. Those with the ability to spiritually excel do so, and those who can’t can find love and support with them, and be carried forward by the magnetic energy if the other to better versions of themselves.
May Allah increase our Himma and make us all ok’ing His beloved’s.
