I pray this message reaches you in a good state spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.

There is so much to ponder in the 99 beautiful names of God. More recently I’ve been reflecting on the beautiful names Al-Dhahir & Al-Batin. A simple translation would be ‘the outwardly Manifest and the inwardly Hidden’

I was speaking with a friend about, among other things, what I loved about pregnancy. Among them is the experience of Allah as both Apparent and Manifest, and Hidden and Private all at once. Pregnancy is a time of deep and profound submission to the will of God. An entire world is happening in the womb. It is in the womb that Allah shapes, molds, creates and brings forth human life into this world. We change in the womb exponentially more than we do in the world. There’s a whole metamorphosis happening. Others can see we are pregnant, especially if like me your body likes to take this pregnancy thing all the way - I mean if you gonna be pregnant, be pregnant why don’t you , giant belly, waddle and all! - but what no one can see is what’s happening in this new universe inside of you.

Allah is the Lord of hidden spaces too.
​

There’s this feeling of a private audience with Allah. A feeling of witnessing the divine unfolding in a completely subservient way that allows you to, quite literally, embody the experience.
​

Sometimes our greatest growth happens in private quiet spaces. Sometimes we may be in public view outwardly, but worlds are shifting within that no one can see. Even if they could see with their outer eyes it would not really give them an audience with the inner realities of what’s happening.
​

That secret, hidden, private space of growth and transformation is a beautiful blessing from Allah. He is all aware and He is the Lord of those spaces too. I pray we all remember that.
